I want to yarn bomb something.
I just need to learn how to knit.
Nah, you can use a crappy thrift store sweater or do a yarn wrapping.

I love that the person listing the pin actually showed the pin back (of course, this doesn’t guarantee that you are getting a real pin but it helps). Plus, this Dumbo pin is adorable.

Sparkly clean refrigerator!!! One of my goals for the time that the human carnivore was away was to do a really thorough refrigerator cleaning. get rid of all those almost empty bottles of stuff, the unidentified things in containers, the yogurts that hide at the back, etc.
Really, the place had become close to worthy of being on hoarders. I think that HC and I get into a bad patter where I’m thinking, “I support the household, why doesn’t he clean more?” and he’s thinking, “I don’t drink the wine, why should I clean up the spill?” It’s a bad pattern and I haven’t figured out how to break it.
he’s back today and I will work on the pattern some more.
An “artsy” photo of an ancient shoe holder. I’ve struggled all my life with what to do with my shoes. I live in a rowhouse that has only one closet. For a while, I kept some of my shoes in this thing that hangs. It lived in the one closet for years and then I moved it to the back of my bedroom door, thinking I might use it, but I didn’t. it has some ancient shoes in it that I haven’t worn in years and years.
So, today, the whole thing went out. Shoes and holder. There was a pair of shoes that I loved a lot when I wore them. By now, the leather is brittle and they are too worn to keep around. But they were so cute and comfortable in their day. Most of the other shoes I don’t even remember owning. I did save one pair of black mary janes because they are still comfortable enough and can be used for work shoes.
Oh well, bye bye little shoes.
As a follow up: a while ago I counted all my skirts and dresses. I missed a few so I actually have more like 40. Since then, I’ve been making an effort to wear them all. For two weeks, I haven’t duplicate any outfit. But, today, I just couldn’t be bothered to think so I wore an outfit I wore last week. I think I should punish myself by putting two skirts into the Goodwill bin tonight!
I’m home from my brief travels so the clear out can continue.
The last items were small (I had to carry them across country) but, even so, part of this is the psychology of getting rid of stuff. Sometimes it’s harder to get rid of the small stuff because it isn’t as visible.
Today, the thing in the photo, is sort of medium sized. it’s a mat for doing a Korean knock off of Dance Dance Revolution. I’m pretty uncoordinated. But, more to the point, I couldn’t figure out which arrows I was supposed to be following. Keeping the mat around has provided me with an excellent reminder that I don’t exercise that way and has prevented me from running out to buy any of the Wii fit stuff. Well, that and the fact that I don’t really have a tv.
In fact, tomorrow may be the day that the useless 13” tv finally makes it all the way out of the house. I hope so! Look for a photo.
Look, not my trash!!
I’m out of town so this is two items I brought with me to be delivered to a friend as part of a gift for making me a mala.
One item is a small “lunch box”- maybe 2”x3” (which monsters on it, I’d love a real lunch box that looked like that). It’s filled with some beads from my collection. The other item is, I admit, a regift. It’s a card case with a sparkly pink martini on it. I love it, actually (and the person who gave it to me). But, it’s been hanging around doing nothing and I think my other friend will really enjoy it.
I would not be offended if someone regifted things from me. So I hope, if he ever finds out, he isn’t offended.
Sometimes it’s enough to enjoy opening the gift and knowing that it was selected for me with love.
